God expects His children to give the first-fruits of our increase back to Him through the local church to worship, grow, serve and share. By giving, we acknowledge that God has given us everything we possess, He is the true owner of everything, and we are His trustees. “On the first day of the week, each of you is to set something aside and save to the extent that he prospers, so that no collections will need to be made when I come” (1 Corinthians 16:2 HCSB).

“But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? For everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your own hand” (1 Chronicles 29:14 HCSB). We believe the Bible teaches we are to give at least 10% of our income, and God blesses our obedience and faithfulness. “Bring the full 10 percent into the storehouse so that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this way,” says the LORD of Hosts. “See if I will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out a blessing for you without measure” (Malachi 3:10 HCSB). Giving of tithes and offerings to First Baptist Dalhart may be done in several ways.

  • Sunday services. Simply place cash or checks in an offering plate during any worship service. Be sure to include your name and address on the check or envelope in order to receive credit for tax purposes.
  • Sunday School. Give your offering to the Class Record Keeper. They will put it in the Sunday School Box. Some find this the most conveinent way to give.
  • By mail. Mail your contribution to First Baptist Church Dalhart, 1000 E. 16th Street, Dalhart, Texas 79022. Be sure to include your name and address on the check or envelope.
  • Online giving. We are now offering online giving for those who prefer to give online. You can give a one time offering or set up reoccurring offerings.

Online Giving

Online giving through our website is safe and convenient. When you click on the Online Giving Link above, you will be directed to the inFellowship portal. Click on “sign up” to create your login and password. Personal information will be requested in order to accurately record your contribution and capture the information needed for tax purposes. After you are signed in to inFellowship, click on “Your Giving.” At that page, click on “Give Now” for one-time gifts or “Schedule Giving” for recurring gifts. The choices at the following page allow you to give to the General Fund, Building Fund or Other. Another choice says, I would like to give by Personal check or Credit card. Using your checking account is the most cost efficient method for the church, and costs us about 80% less than when credit or debit cards are used. Keep in mind, the church highly discourages using a credit card for tithes and offerings, so if you choose the card method, please use a debit card. After entering the required information about your account, click on “Continue” and “Process this payment” or “Process this schedule” at the next page.

If you desire, as a symbolic act of worship, you may place an empty offering envelope in the plate during any worship service and simply write on the front of the envelope “Gave Online” when you use the online giving option. Please do not write an amount on the envelope if you give online. For additional questions about online giving, call Sally Finney at 806.244.5584 or email her at If you prefer to no longer receive offering envelopes in the mail, please let Sally know.
