Example

As Christians, we are to be an example of Christ.  The definition of example is (1) one of a number of things, or a part of something, taken to show the character of the whole: (2) a pattern or model, as of something to be imitated.

To be an example is to have a visible mark left on you by an identifiable, original source.  Fair or not, people tend to judge the quality of what’s being handed to them by the hand.  Many people still resist God’s Word because they are repelled by some people pushing it… (Beth Moore)

When we have been forgiven of our sins through the blood of Christ, it is in His powerful name that we are saved and in His name we live, speak and act. We are to be an example.

Ephesians 5:1-3 says, “Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children.  And walk in love, as the Messiah also loved us and gave Himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.”

2 Corinthians 2:14-16 says, “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?”

We MUST, for the sake of the gospel, for the sake of SO MANY people out there, be a FRAGRANT aroma, and an EXAMPLE of Christ in our lives!

May we be imitators of Christ so that those around us would notice a fragrant aroma.
